Yamaha is planning to launch a new electric scooter in India. The company has shared an invitation for an event in April.
Of course, there is no mention of launching an electric vehicle. It is understood that an event will be organized by Yamaha on April 11. An invitation has also been prepared for this. The teaser does not mention electric scooters or any electric vehicle. "Join us as we come together to bring Yamaha a stylish, sporty and exciting new future," the teaser states.
The teaser also features "The Call of the Blue". Although not a direct sign of electric vehicles, the color blue is often associated with electricity and light.
Which scooter can Yamaha launch in India? Yamaha has already made a name for itself in the Indian market. The Japanese two-wheeler maker may also launch the Neo, an electric scooter recently launched in the European market. The company had announced that it would launch the scooter in ASEAN countries. However, there was no specific mention of India's launch. The Neo is a small scooter that will be in the same segment as the 50cc ICE scooter. The new EV comes with a range of about 37 km. The scooter supports battery swapping technology.
The E01 is the more powerful of the two scooters competing with Ether and Ola electric scooters. The E01 will be in line with the 125cc scooter segment. This new product will be able to compete with Ather 450 series and Ola S1. Meanwhile, the range can be very short. With more and more competitors entering the Indian market, it makes sense for a company like Yamaha to enter the market. The brand is popular for its performance heavy products. EV segment performance is also getting stronger in India now.
